2:13:59
Hey y’all, I ran 13.1 miles in 2:13:59.
I have so much to say about my performance and the Oakland Running Festival, and I have definitely learned a lot about training for endurance events. Right now I am exhausted — like, I can’t believe I told my boss I’d be able to work tomorrow — and I have two job interviews I need to prep for. I’ll post my commentary later.
For now, I’d like to thank the following:
Corrigan Sports, for brainstorming and developing the Oakland Running Festival
The City of Oakland, for closing the necessary streets, as well as gracing us with hot policemen and firemen
All of the volunteers who cheered, provided snacks and beverages, brought props, and wore costumes
My loving family and friends who attended — and had a blast
The spectators!
The Lake Merritt Joggers and Striders for their excellent half marathon training program
Ted and Michael from AlamedaRunners.com, for stepping up as pace leaders and pushing me at the very last mile
All of the runners. Whether you participated in the 5K, half, full, or relay; or whether you ran, ran and walked, or walked. You have inspired me.

Good job Sesa. That last mile took a lot of determination but you did it.
Thanks for your help and support, Ted! You and Michael were my saving grace at the end.
It was our pleasure! Very happy to make sure everyone finishes the best they can! :)
